Most of us know our birthstone. Many of us even know the birthstones of our close friends and relatives. Unfortunately birthstones have not always been the same stones we think of today.

Many cultures had their own list of birthstones. There are birthstone charts from Arabic, Ayurvedic, Hebrew, Hindu, Roman, and Russian culture. There are also birthstones associated with mystical influences and the zodiac.
